ArcelorMittal Jubail relies on Siemens Industrial Solutions and Quintiq to realize their future shopfloor and scheduling system.

ArcelorMittal is the world's leading steel company, with operations in more than 60 countries. ArcelorMittal is the leader in all major global steel markets, including automotive, construction, household appliances and packaging, with leading R&D and technology, as well as sizeable captive supplies of raw materials and outstanding distribution networks.

ArcelorMittal is currently setting up the construction of a Greenfield seamless pipes mill in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

The mill is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Bin Jarallah Group of Saudi Arabia. ArcelorMittal chooses Siemens SIMETAL MES as Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to manage their shopfloor activities. This solution is based on the standard platform for MES, SIMATIC IT for the production related functions. Quintiq, a leading provider of advanced planning and scheduling solutions is taking care of the fully integrated advanced scheduling functions. Metal specific libraries for tube mills are realized by Siemens Industrial Solutions.

The project is scheduled for completion by September 2011.
