Siemens SA and Icon Dynamics OE join forces for ultrasound and radiography systems

29 May 2014

The Healthcare Sector of Siemens Greece and Icon Dynamics signed a cooperation agreement for the trade of ultrasound and radiography systems. As part of the agreement, Icon Dynamics will support the sales promotion of Siemens ultrasound and radiography systems.

The Medical Imaging Division of the Siemens Greece Healthcare Sector offers high-quality systems for a wide range of diagnostic imaging, throughout the applications of the demanding healthcare field. Doctors need to rely on accurate diagnoses in order to make the most appropriate decisions for the care of their patients. This is why Siemens promotes innovation, continuously redefining the limits of medical technology, especially in the imaging field.

The portfolio of Siemens Healthcare includes pioneering technologies, such as:

  • ACUSON S – Series ultrasound platform enables the collection of large amounts of diagnostic information, comparing to the conventional imaging machines. Its workflow protocols are intelligently designed, while the system offers ergonomics and easily adjusts to the user’s specific needs. At the same time, the high-quality diagnostic image enables the timely and detailed diagnosis.

  • ACUSON S2000 ABVS system which is especially developed to make breast scanning easier than ever, for both doctors and patients. It provides full breast imaging capabilities in projective and tomographic view, while it enables the creation, analysis and display of detailed sonographic data for the breast’s complex anatomy and pathology. With ACUSON S2000 ABVS, scanning is implemented automatically, without any intervention from the user. At the same time, the Siemens system enables instantaneous coronary anatomic imaging (projection) of breast’s views, which were not available through the conventional manual ultrasound. This ultrasound system significantly simplifies scanning, provides exceptional imaging and offers comfort to the patient, optimizing the workflow.

  • The tissue-imaging method Virtual Touch™, an innovative Siemens application using the Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse (ARFI) technology for evaluation of deep tissues not accessible by superficial compression elastography

  • The new ACUSON X300 PE™ digital ultrasound system which enables excellent imaging per-formance with an advanced, portable version. In situations where transfer is necessary or when there are space limitations, the comprehensive fully featured system of Siemens addresses the most demanding operational and clinical challenges. It provides a wide range of imaging applications, including general imaging, cardiology, gynecology-obstetrics, offering excellent diagnostic solutions in a fully available package, with advanced ergonomics. ACUSON X300 PE™ is designed to set new standards for wheeled ultrasounds.

  • Mammomat Inspiration PRIME Edition software which brings a revolution in mammography. It is the world’s first software focusing on eliminating scattered radiation in mammography, ensuring that the images’ high quality is not affected. Mammomat Inspiration PRIME Edition minimizes dose by up to 30%, combining Gridless Acquisition and Progressive Image Reconstruction, while it replaces the conventional scattered radiation grid with a new, innovative algorithm for Progressive Image Reconstruction.

Icon Dynamics’s long experience and leading position in the Greek market, combined with the range and the capabilities of Siemens’s comprehensive product portfolio, offer excellent prospects for the adoption of the pioneering ultrasound and radiography technologies of Siemens by a greater part of the medical community.
