The informational events organized again this year by Siemens on June 4 and 10 in Thessaloniki and Athens respectively for its customers and partners from the sector of Industry, were concluded with great success. Almost 500 representatives from the industrial sector participated in the events, and were informed about the new trends in the field of Industrial Applications and the innovative technological solutions of Siemens, through the presentations of the Digital Factory and Process Industries & Drives Directorates of Siemens S.A.
This year, the events focused on the concept of “Industrie 4.0”, the new global concept of Siemens, which highlights the role of digitization and digital production fro the present and the future of the industrial sector. In this context, Mr. Konstantin Zois, General Manager of Digital Factory and Process Industries & Drives of Siemens S.A., focused his presentation on the way with which innovative solutions of IT and automation, drive technologies and relevant services help in the improvement of the five stages of the production process, namely the design of products, the design of the whole of production, the customization, the implementation and the services.
“The events of Siemens for the industrial sector have already been established as an institution. We are particularly happy to see that our customers and partners actively participate in them”, commented Mr. Zois. “In order to predict the future, the best way is to invent it. Digitization is the future of industrial production and in Siemens we utilize our technology and innovations, in order to make the future a reality. The new prospects and opportunities that are opened up by digitization are concentrated in the “Industrie 4.0” vision of Siemens. In order for this vision to become practice, the human factor plays a particular role. Our contact, therefore, with the executives of the industrial sector is extremely important, in order to listen to their needs and to offer them the appropriate products, systems and services. This year, therefore, we presented our complete portfolio, which gives answers to the challenges of the industrial sector”, he added.
The new products and innovations that were presented, included the new controllers SIMATIC S7-1500 Compact and SIMATIC S7-1200 with integrated security functions, Logo 8! and Logo 8! Starter Kit, as well as a full portfolio of software and hardware for the SIMATIC solutions of Siemens. In addition, emphasis was given to innovative devices and Human Machine Interface software, industrial communications and networks systems, industrial type computers, security technology and power adapters. Also, the new field measuring instruments for the measuring of pressure, temperature, flux and volume for any industrial automation were presented.
Furthermore, the executives of Siemens S.A. presented the innovations of the SIRIUS portfolio of industrial monitoring products, while special attention was given to the solutions of Siemens for the distribution of power, since the stability of distribution constitutes a critical issue for modern industries. Moreover, the presentations focused on the benefits that are offered by the energy efficient Sinamics Drives, the SIMOTICS engines series and the integrated systems of high performance transmission drives.
Also, the public’s interest was on the solutions and the portfolio of customer and support services of Siemens. In this context, the online systems of solutions support and the special applications of Siemens for smartphones were highlighted, as also were the value adding, training, and data management services, which cover the full lifecycle of industrial solutions. Finally, particular emphasis was given to the Integrated Drive Systems and especially to the upgrading and modernization capabilities that Siemens offers, through the presentation of a navigation model in a 3D virtual environment, in which visitors had the opportunity to learn the alternatives that Siemens offers in the sector of Retrofit for IDS.
