Protection Commissioning Engineer

For our Siemens Division “Energy Management” we are looking for a Protection Commissioning Engineer in the area of Digital Protection Systems at the earliest opportunity for participation in the international projects

What are your responsibilities?

  • Protection digital relay parameterization for Medium and High Voltage Switchgear

  • Substation protection system commissioning, conduction of functional performance, Factory and Site acceptance tests. Witness test performance

  • Measuring transformers commissioning, testing of HV disconnectors/earthing switches and breakers in regard of protection functions

  • Preparation of technical project documentation, protection base design

  • Close cooperation with international partners to agree concepts of substations protection systems as well as clarification of the technical specification

  • Project reporting to the technical (Sub-) Project management

  • Support the sub-project manager for technical clarifications with customer and subcontractor

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Completed higher technical education (electrical engineering, electromechanics)

  • 3 years experience in the field of digital protection

  • Solid knowledge in the area of control- and protection systems

  • Experience with automated protection testing tools (e.x. Omicron)

  • Relevant work experience in commissioning of substation control- and protection systems

  • Good knowledge of Protection Products, knowledge of Siemens products is an advantage

  • Good knowledge of technical standards and regulations

  • English language (intermediate and higher). Additional foreign language (German) would be a significant advantage

  • Team player, initiative, learning ability, result and quality orientation, analytical mind

  • Interest for work in a multi-national and multi-cultural team

  • Travel readiness for participation in commissioning abroad
